Parkland Shooting Survivors Coming To Birmingham

Survivors of the February school shooting in Parkland will visit Birmingham next week.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Survivors of the February 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, are coming to Birmingham for a town hall meeting next week.

The event, sponsored by the March for our Lives movement, takes place July 31 at 4 p.m., at Highlands United Methodist Church.

The format for the event is a panel discussion relating to gun violence specific to the Birmingham community, how to get registered to vote and what activists can be doing on a national scale. The panel includes four Parkland students and three local students.

The event is free and open to the public.
