Patch High School Football Scoreboard: Week 3

Keep up with all of the high school football action on the Patch Scoreboard, including the key match-up between Thompson and Hoover.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - With one of the biggest games of the season happening this weekend - a clash between 7A No. 1 Thompson and No. 2 Hoover - Week 3 of the high school football season promises to be exciting. Thompson unseated Hoover at the top spot of the ASWA rankings this week, but that can change depending on Friday night's outcome.

Thursday night's games included a 34-0 win by Wenonah over Woodlawn - as the Colonols of Woodlawn are still shaken by the death of their team captain William Edwards - and Carver won a close game against Chelsea, 28-24.

In addition to the battle at the Hoover Met Friday night, Vestavia Hills travels to Spain Park to take on the 10th-ranked Jaguars, as the Rebels are coming off a huge win over Homewood last week. As well, Jackson-Olin takes on Minor, Pinson Valley plays Shades Valley, Pleasant Grove hosts Briarwood, Huffman faces off against Gardendale, Clay-Chalkville hosts Niceville, Fla., Oak Mountain plays at Hewitt-Trussville, Ramsay hosts Parker, Pelham plays Homewood, John Carroll faces Fairfield, Mountain Brook travels to Tuscaloosa to play Tuscaloosa County and Bessemer Academy plays Glenwood.
