Pedestrian Critically Injured In Traffic Accident

A Pleasant Grove man was seriously injured when he was struck by a vehicle in the McDonald's Chapel community.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A 39-year-old Pleasant Grove man was critically injured when he was struck by a car Wednesday night in the McDonald’s Chapel community. The man was transported to an area hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

The incident occurred at about 5:45 near the intersection of Quebec Drive and 4th Avenue, according to a report by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. Debuties arrived to find the man suffering life-threatening injuries.

Information from the scene is that the driver of the car that struck the victim was traveling along Quebec Drive and did not see him in the road. The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.

The Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team was called in to investigate the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
