BIRMINGHAM, AL - A scuffle between a Birmingham police officer and a burglary suspect Monday night resulted in injuries to the officer. The officer encountered the suspect leaving a CVS store located at 2228 Bessemer Road.
A report by Alabama Media Group said west precinct officers responded at about 7:30 p.m. to a reported robbery in progress at the CVS. The officer injured her ankle during the incident and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The suspect is still in custody but has not been formally charged.
