Positive Maturity to Honor Top 50 Over 50 at Annual Dinner
Governor Ivey Among Honorees

Positive Maturity, one of Central Alabama’s oldest organizations dedicated to senior lifestyles, announces the honorees of the 2019 Top 50 Over 50 award. The sixth annual award is given in recognition to civic and community leaders, over the age of 50, for their service to community through business success, personal achievement or civic engagement.
The Top 50 Over 50 Awards Gala will be held at The Club on Thursday, July 25, 2019. The gala will begin with a cocktail reception followed by a seated dinner and awards ceremony. Sponsors include Regions Bank and United Way of Central Alabama. Winners of the award will be featured in a special section of the July edition of B-Metro magazine.
Positive Maturity was founded in 1970 as a project of Independent Presbyterian Church to address the needs of the growing senior community in Birmingham. Since then, the organization has partnered with United Way of Central Alabama and has grown to provide a variety of volunteer opportunities for seniors and people seeking service opportunities geared toward seniors.

Recipients of the award must be over the age of 50 at the time of the event and must live or work in Alabama. Among the honorees this year are Governor Kay Ivey, the first Alabama Lieutenant Governor elected to a full term after becoming governor due to a vacancy in the governor's office, and Jimmy Rane, the owner of Great Southern Wood, better known at the “Yella Fella” for his lumber commercials.
