Public Invited To Look Behind The Science Of COVID-19 With UAB Frontline Doctors

The University of Alabama at Birmingham’s ninth annual Darwin Day will pull back the curtain and take a closer look behind the science of the COVID-19 pandemic. Join three frontline heroes at noon Friday, Feb. 12, as they present “Behind the Science at UAB: Integrating Research and Medicine to Respond to the Pandemic.”

Attendees will hear from Jeanne Marrazzo, M.D., director of UAB’s Division of Infectious Diseases; Paul Goepfert, M.D., professor of medicine; and Nathan Erdmann, M.D., assistant professor of medicine, as they discuss their work to coordinate treatment strategies, conduct clinical trials and lead other safety initiatives for the pandemic.

UAB’s Darwin Day — hosted by the College of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Biology — honors the birthday of legendary evolutionary biologist Charles Darwin and celebrates scientific research in evolutionary biology and other disciplines.
