BIRMINGHAM, AL — A quadruple shooting in Birmingham Tuesday left a man and woman dead and two other victims hospitalized. The incident occurred just after 11 a.m. at 1024 12th Street North.

Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said the preliminary investigation suggests that 40-year-old Derick Williams, who was in a previous romantic relationship with the surviving female, came to the location and shot all three people inside, killing 65-year-old Loretta Frazier.

The wounded male victim inside was able to return fire fatally wounding Williams, Mauldin said. The investigation indicates a domestic report was filed at this location within the last 24 hours
