Here are the top stories in Birmingham today:

  1. The Jefferson County Coroner and Medical Examiner’s Office (JCCMEO) is still searching for families of three people who died in Birmingham last week. All attempts to contact living relatives of Patricia Ann Russell (68), Lois McAdoo Williams (74), and Robert Lee George (76) have failed. Russell and Williams reportedly died of natural causes in their residences, while George, who has been identified as homeless, was found unresponsive on a local sidewalk. Police are asking anyone with information to contact JCCMEO at 205-930-3603. (WIAT - CBS42.com)
  2. Alabama children under 5 could soon be eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations as soon as the end of February. Pfizer and its partner BioNTech were expected to file an emergency authorization request with the Food and Drug Administration yesterday, which, if approved, will allow children younger than 5 to receive the company's vaccine. Pediatric COVID-19 hospitalization in Alabama is at a record high, and this new eligibility could help reverse the trend if parents opt to get their children vaccinated. (Birmingham Patch)
  3. Beloved Birmingham radio show Reg's Coffee House celebrates 25 years on the air this week. On every Sunday since 1997, Scott Register, local host of the iconic show, has explored music old and new from a variety of genres. (Bham Now)
