Remains Found Of Man Missing For 5 Years

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Skeletal remains discovered under a Birmingham home last week have been identified as a man who has been missing since 2014. The remains were found Oct. 14, and were identified Monday as Donald Wayne Wilson.

Wilson was last seen in August of 2014. He lived in the home under which his remains were found. The discovery was made Oct. 14 during renovations of the home at 8536 Third Ave. South.

An Alabama Media Group report said Wilson was 64 at the time of his disappearance. Wilson grew up on the east side of town and was last known to be alive between Aug. 1 through Aug. 3, 2014.

Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said they have not determined how Wilson died.
