Schools Delayed Or Closed Tuesday Due To Weather
Threat of severe weather has forced many schools in the state to delay opening Tuesday or close for the day.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Most of the Birmingham metro saw some heavy rain Sunday night, but the wet weather is not over, according to the National Weather Service in Birmingham. The NWS forecast indicates that a slight risk of severe weather is in effect for the Birmingham area beginning at 9 p.m. Monday and continuing through 9 a.m. Tuesday.
The NWS said, via social media Monday morning, that tornadoes are a possibility in addition to heavy rain.
"Damaging winds & tornadoes are the main threats for storms thru the night. DO NOT rely on 1 and only 1 way to receive warning info!" The post states. "IF a warning is issued, being woken up is not an ideal moment for fast action. Take 5 min now and make a plan for what to do if a warning is issued!"
