Robbery At North Birmingham Gas Station Under Investigation

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Birmingham police are looking for suspects they say may have been involved in a robbery at an Exxon gas station at 4101 1st Avenue North. The incident occured Oct. 17 at approximately 10:20 p.m.

Sgt. Johnny Williams of the Birmingham PD said the suspect began to shoplift clothing items from the store and attempted to leave. As the suspect attempted to exit, he was reportedly confronted by the store clerk. Both the suspect and clerk became involved in a physical altercation before the suspect allegedly threw the clerk to the floor.

The suspect managed to flee the scene in a silver Nissan Sentra that was occupied by a black female. Williams said the store clerk did sustain an injury to the knee and was taken to St. Vincent’s for further evaluation.
