Robert Ehsan Out As UAB Basketball Coach

UAB has parted ways with head men's basketball coach Robert Ehsan, after a 19-13 record this season.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — The University of Alabama at Birmingham announced Friday that the school will search for a new men's basketball coach after the school and coach Robert Ehsan agreed to part ways.

UAB was 19-13 this season, and won the opening round of the Conference USA Tournament before the conference canceled the tournament amid coronavirus concerns.

During Ehsan's four years at UAB, the Blazers posted an overall record of 76-57 and 38-34 in Conference USA play. Ehsan was the school's sixth head coach in its history, taking over for Jarod Haase. UAB finished the season with two straight wins, and winning 5 out of the last 7 games.

Since its first year of competition in 1978, the UAB men's basketball program has an overall record of 836-510. The Blazers have played in 15 NCAA Tournaments along with making 12 NIT appearances.
