Roy Moore Files Lawsuit Claiming Political Conspiracy
Former Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore has filed a complaint alleging a political conspiracy against him.

ETOWAH COUNTY, AL - Former Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore announced Monday he has filed a lawsuit in Etowah County claiming a political conspiracy against him. The allegations stem from Moore's unsuccessful Senate bid last fall, during which time women came forward and accused Moore of sexual misconduct.
The defendants in Moore complaint are Leigh Corfman, who was the first woman to come forward with an accusation claiming Moore had inappropriate sexual contact with her when she was 14 years old and Moore was 32; Debbie Wesson Gibson, who claimed she and Moore were in a relationship when she was 17 and he was 34; Beverly Young Nelson, who claimed Moore sexually assaulted her in his car when she was a teenager; Tina Johnson, who alleged Moore grabbed her buttocks in his office; and Richard Hagedorn, who said he knew Corfman and revealed he was aware of other alleged incidents involving Moore.

"What we've documented in this complaint will show the people of Alabama that these people knew what they were doing. They set it out. They described what they were going to do. They did it, and they bragged about doing it afterward," Moore said at a news conference.
"Those accusations involved events that supposedly occurred from 26 to 40 years ago," the lawsuit said. "Yet they all coincidentally surfaced for the first time within a seven-day period, a mere 32 days before the December 12 general election."

"Although the liberal media, eager to bury Judge Moore’s candidacy, have repeated over and over the mantra of 'nine accusers,' in fact only three women alleged improper conduct. Those three accusers, defendants Leigh Corfman, Beverly Nelson, and Tina Johnson have all defamed Judge Moore by accusing him of immoral acts he never committed and adamantly denies," the complaint reads.
Moore is seeking compensation and punitive damages that were not specified in the compmaint.
