- A new sensory room has been installed in the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex. Local nonprofit KultureCity, the creator of six sensory spaces across the city and the U.S., has installed soft lighting, plush carpet, seating, and sensory activities inside a designated room in the BJCC's Legacy Arena. (wvua23.com)
- On Thursday night, a Birmingham man was struck and killed by a car while walking in a rainstorm. According to authorities, 30-year-old Christopher Lee Browder was walking in the 5600 block of Court I in the heavy rain when he was hit by a vehicle. Browder was pronounced dead on the scene. - One year after two-year-old Major Turner was fatally shot in his home, the Birmingham Police Department has announced an arrest. 24-year-old Clearence Speed Jr., who was already held in the Jefferson County Jail on an unrelated murder charge, was arrested in Turner's death. (Birmingham Patch)
