Sessions Resigns: Will He Return To Senate?
Jeff Sessions has stepped down as Attorney General, but many wonder if the Alabama native is done in the political realm.

WASHINGTON, DC - Former Alabama senator and U.S Attorney General Jeff Sessions is leaving the administration, President Trump announced on Twitter Wednesday. Matthew G. Whitaker, Session's chief of staff, will be the country's acting attorney general.
What does this mean for Sessions' political future? One former senator from Alabama says Sessions needs to return to the Senate. Luther Strange, who was appointed by former governor Robert Bentley to take Sessions' seat after his appointment to AG, made the suggestion to Sessions and the people of Alabama via Twitter Wednesday afternoon.

Sessions was elected Alabama’s attorney general in 1994, but then decided to run for Senate in 1996 when Democrat Howell Heflin retired. Sessions won, and served in the Senate until 2017 when Trump appointed him AG.

Doug Jones won the special Senate election last December to finish out Sessions' term, and is up for re-election in 2020.
