Tornado Watch In Effect For Birmingham Metro
A Tornado Watch has been extended for the Birmingham area until 4 a.m Tuesday.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Birmingham's weather outlook has changed as the day has progressed, with the National Weather Service in Birmingham issuing a Tornado Watch for most of the northern portion of the state, including the Birmingham metro area.
The Tornado Watch has been EXTENDED in area to include the eastern counties & EXTENDED in time until 4 AM. We are working on removing some of the western counties from the watch. pic.twitter.com/lywUiioGos

Tornadoes have already ripped through parts of Louisiana and Mississippi Monday as the storm system continues to head east. As well, the western counties in Alabama have seen tornadoes touch down — including Hale County and Walker County.
Heavy rain has already commenced in Jefferson and Shelby counties, with winds expected to reach up to 70 mph.
