Sheriff’s Detectives Make Arrest In Robinwood Homicide

A man has been arrested and charged with murder in the death of a victim in the Robinwood community.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — An 18-year-old suspect has been arrested and charged with the Saturday morning murder of a man found dead in the Robinwood community of Jefferson County. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the victim as Joe Loston Sanders.

Kenneth Jerome Wilkerson Jr. is charged with murder, with a bond of $60,000.

A report by Deputy Chief David Agee of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said at 2:49 a.m. September 28, a man was found dead in the Robinwood communityof eastern Jefferson County. Agee said detectives investigated the crime scene and developed enough evidence to lead them to the offender.

Wilkerson was taken into custody Sunday. Agee said the homicide appears to have resulted from a dispute over drugs.
