Sheriff’s Office Investigating Two Fatal Traffic Accidents Monday
Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies are investigating two separate fatal accidents that occurred Monday.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating two separate traffic accidents that occurred Monday - one a motorcycle accident on McDonald’s Chapel Road, resulting in the death of an unidentified motorist, and the other a two-car accident on Forestdale Blvd. that also resulted in a fatality.
Information on the motorcycle accident, which happened around 7 a.m., indicates that the motorcycle was traveling north on McDonald’s Chapel Road when the operator lost control in a curve, left the road and struck a tree. The name of the driver is being withheld pending notification of family.
The accident on Forestdale Blvd. occurred around 2 p.m., was witnessed by a deputy, who indicated that one vehicle backed out of a driveway onto Forestdale Blvd. into the path of another vehicle. The vehicles collided.

The elderly female driver of the vehicle that backed out of the driveway was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries. She was pronounced dead at the hospital. The elderly female passenger in the same vehicle was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. There were no other injuries reported.
