Sheriff's Detectives Discover Body In Bayview Lake

BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation after a body was discovered in Bayview Lake Saturday afternoon.

At about 4 p.m. Saturday, deputies were called to the 300 block of Willow Avenue in the Bayview Community to investigate a report of a body being discovered in the lake. A man fishing on the lake discovered the body and had a family member call 911.

Deputies arrived and were taken to the location by boat. The body of an adult male was found on the north side of the lake in the water. The location is accessible only by boat.

Personnel are working to recover the body. Once the body is recovered from the lake it will be taken to the Coroner’s office to determine the cause of death and identity.

The investigation is ongoing.
