Sheriff's Office Investigating April 30 Homicide

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting death that occurred April 30.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide after a 25-year-old man was found shot to death in his home late last night.

Just after 10 p.m. last night deputies responded to a report of a shooting complaint at a residence in the 5700 block of Balboa Terrace. They arrived to find 25-year-old Carlos Tyrell Gray dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

The victim’s girlfriend reported she last saw him about an hour earlier when she left the home. When she returned she discovered his body. When deputies arrived on scene they checked the home for additional victims or suspects.

While clearing the house deputies reported seeing marijuana, digital scales, a glock handgun with an extended magazine and an AK 47 rifle with a large capacity magazine all laying in plain view.
