Sheriff's Office Investigating Shooting In Center Point

A shooting at a Walgreens in Center Point launches an investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred at a Walgreens pharmacy in Center Point Tuesday night.

Just after 5 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a person shot on the parking lot of the store on Center Point Parkway. They arrived to find an adult male and an adult female in a car suffering injuries caused by flying glass. Investigators say no one was shot. The injured were taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Preliminary information is that a person riding in the car with the victims exchanged gunfire with another group in a separate car. The victims pulled into the parking lot and the other car fled the scene. Four people have been detained and are being questioned by detectives. The investigation is ongoing.
