Sheriff's Office Investigating Shooting In Docena
A shooting in Docena sent a man to the hospital with injuries, as Jefferson County Sheriff's Office investigators looking into motive.
BIRMINGHAM, AL - Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office detectives are conducting a shooting Investigation in Docena. At about 3:15 Thursday afternoon, deputies responded to a report of a fight involving weapons at a residence on 5th Street in Docena.
They arrived to find a teen aged male suffering from a gunshot wound to his hand. He was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Information on the scene revealed that several teens were arguing and a fight broke out. One of the teens called for friends to come help. One of the friends arrived with a gun and fired shots.
A witness followed the shooter to Hueytown where they were stopped and detained by Hueytown Police.
The investigation is ongoing.
