BIRMINGHAM, AL - Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies are conducting a shooting investigation in northeast Jefferson County Wednesday. At about 5:30 Wednesday afternoon, deputies responded to a report of gunshots in the 2600 block of Streetman Circle. An adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The shooter fled the scene but suspects were located by patrol deputies a short distance away and were taken into custody for questioning. At this point the motive is unknown.
