Sheriff's Office Questioning Suspect In Shooting
Jefferson County Sheriff's detectives are investigating a shooting that sent one man to an area hospital Thursday.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Jefferson County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a shooting that sent one man to an area hospital. Thursday afternoon.
Just after 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon deputies responded to a report of gun fire in the area of Eastern Valley Road and Asbury Street. As they were checking the area they received information that Bessemer Police were out with a shooting victim and suspect at a convenience store on Highway 150 near Fairfax Avenue. The victim reported that the shooting had occurred along Eastern Valley Road.

The adult male victim was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. The suspect was taken to the Sheriff’s Office to be questioned by detectives.
It was not immediately known what led to the shooting. The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as they become available.
