Shooting In Bessemer Leaves 1 Man Dead; Suspect In Custody

A McCalla man died in a shooting in Bessemer Monday night. Police have a suspect in custody.

BESSEMER, AL — A 29-year-old McCalla man is dead after a shooting in Bessemer Monday night. An Alabama Media Group report said the shooting occurred around 8 p.m.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Courtney Tremaine Hudson. Bessemer police Lt. Christian Clemons said in the al.com report that Hudson was in the suspect's vehicle in the area of Carolina Avenue and 15th Street South when he was shot multiple times.

The suspect is in custody, but no charges have been filed as of Tuesday morning.
