BIRMINGHAM, AL — A shooting Monday night left a woman dead and another victim injured after a dispute at a Birmingham convenience store, police say. The deceased has been identified as 47-year-old Cheri Twilley of Birmingham.

Sgt. Johnny Williams of the Birmingham Police Department said the shooting occurred around 7:45 in the 1600 block of Tuscaloosa Avenue.

Williams said initial evidence shows that a dispute occurred at a nearby convenience store between Twilley and the suspect. He said that short time later, the suspect fired into the victims’ vehicle while stopped at a stop sign. Officers were later informed that Twilley had succumbed to her injury and was pronounced deceased by Princeton Hospital staff. The second shooting victim is expected to recover from his injury.
