Shooting Death In West Birmingham Under Investigation
A deadly shooting Jan. 30 in west Birmingham claimed the life of a 21-year-old man.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — Birmingham police are investigating a shooting that killed 21-year-old Travars Wages. The incident occurred Jan. 30 at 2:30 a.m. at 2726 Pearson Avenue Southwest.
Sgt. Johnny Williams of the Birmingham Police Department said officers found Wages lying on his side and suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue reported to the scene and transported the victim to UAB Hospital for treatment. Wages died Wednesday from his injuries.
Investigators learned that the victim had just walked outside before he was shot, Williams said. No suspects are in custody.
