Shooting In Fairfield Parking Lot Under Investigation

FAIRFIELD, AL — A shooting investigation is underway after a man was shot in Fairfield Sunday afternoon. The man is expected to recover from his injuries.

Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the incident occurred just after 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the 6500 block of Aaron Aronov Drive Fairfield.

Money said the victim was standing in a parking lot when an unknown gunman approached him and asked him what he was doing at that location. The gunman fired shots at the victim and fled the scene.

The victim's injuries are not life-threatening, according to Money.
