Here are the top three stories today in Birmingham:

  1. In an early-morning shooting on Saturday, one person was killed and two injured at Tru-Riders Motorcycle Club in Birmingham. According to police, North Precinct officers were called to the club at 905 Reverend Abraham Woods Jr. Blvd. for a shooting report where they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. Early investigation revealed a fight took place at the motorcycle club prior to shots being fired and two other people were shot. 38-year-old Navari Jones of Bessemer was shot at the club and crashed a car near the front door of Birmingham Police Headquarters, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.   2. On Saturday, Feb. 26, a rally was held in support of Ukraine in Birmingham's Railroad Park. The Ukrainian community here in Birmingham, along with their supporters, united to support their homeland and denounce that attack. According to the group organizing the event, they wanted to bring people together in support of Ukraine and they’re concerned about what the people there, some of whom are relatives, are facing.   3. Last Friday, Feb. 25, local kids in Birmingham got a lesson in basic car maintenance. Nightlife Outlawz, a local non-profit, teaches people about cars and car safety through community service initiatives. Last week, staff taught the kids at A.G. Gaston Boys and Girls Club some basic car care lessons, such as how to check batteries and how to change tires. (WVTM13 Birmingham)
