Shooting In McDonald's Chapel Area Now A Homicide
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that occurred Monday afternoon, resulting in one death.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that occurred at 3 p.m. in the McDonald's Chapel neighborhood. Two people were reported injured in the incident initially, but one victim has been pronounced dead at UAB Hospital. The victim has been identified as an 18-year-old male.
Deputies responded to a shooting complaint at a convenience store in the 3200 block of Birmingport Road, according to reports.
It was reported that several shots had been fired between two groups of men in the store parking lot. Two adult men involved had been shot and transported to an area hospital in private cars. The nature and extent of their injuries is unknown.
