Shooting At McDonald's On Lomb Ave. Leaves 1 Dead, 2 Injured

Reports say one adult and a minor were injured while the gunman was fatally shot by another customer.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A shooting at a McDonald's restaurant in Birmingham over the weekend left an adult and a minor with injuries, and the original gunman dead.

A report by Alabama Media Group said the shooting happened about 10:45 p.m. at the Lomb Avenue restaurant. Birmingham police spokesman Sgt. Bryan Shelton said the restaurant was closing for the night and the manager was unlocking the door to let out a father and his two teen sons.

As the door was opened, a masked man burst inside and opened fire. The exiting customer was able to return fire, striking the masked man who died at UAB Hospital.

The father and one of his sons were injured but are expected to recover.
