Shooting Victim Found Dead In Ensley
A 34-year-old man was found dead in Ensley Tuesday morning, with an apparent gunshot wound.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A man was found dead in Ensley Tuesday morning, and the Jefferson County Coroner's Office determined the man has suffered a gunshot wound. The victim has been identified as 34-year-old Akeem Travonte of Birmingham.
Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said officers found Travonte unresponsive in an alley off Avenue W in Ensley around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. Officers initially could not find any signs of injury, but upon further investigation, Travonte's death was found to be caused by a gunshot wound.
Mauldin said no suspects are in custody and a motive has not been established.
