Shooting At Western Hills Mall Under Investigation

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting outside Western Hills Mall over the weekend. The incident occurred just after 3 p.m. Saturday.

Deputy Chief David Agee of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said deputies found a victim on the scene in his car suffering from gunshot wounds and rendered medical assistance until paramedics arrived.

The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment and is expected to survive his wounds. A suspect has been identified but is not in custody, Agee said.
