Snow In Birmingham? Possible Flurries Forecast For North Alabama
The National Weather Service says light snow showers may mix in with light rain after midnight Thursday.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — As temperatures start to fall Thursday night, the chance of light snow increases for parts of the state, according to the National Weather Service. That does not likely mean that residents need to race to the grocery store and stock up on bread and milk, but light accumulation is possible.
A report by the weather service in Birmingham Thursday said some light snow showers may mix in with light rain after midnight. "We can't completely rule out VERY ISOLATED small accumulations (~0.1 inch) on grassy surfaces in far N Central AL, but impacts are NOT expected due to warm temp," the agency posted to social media.
Precipitation will begin around 8 p.m., according to The Weather Channel.
