BIRMINGHAM, AL - One of the neighborhoods that has played a significant role in the resurgence of Birmingham's urban areas is undergoing some ownership changes. One of those businesses, Avondale Brewery, has been sold, along with several others owned by Coby Lake.
Avondale Brewery, Post Office Pies, Saw's Soul Kitchen, Avondale Common House, Wasabi Juan's and The Sour Room were all purchased by Orchestra Partners, according to a report from the Birmingham Business Journal. Avondale Brewing Company, LLC was also included in the transaction, which has been purchased by Good People Brewing Co. Lake has plans now to transform downtown Trussville in a similar manner. Lake said he plans to open a craft brewery in downtown Trussville, in addition to similar business he held in Avondale. “I didn’t want competing breweries,” Lake told the Trussville Tribune. “I want to have something authentic and unique to Trussville Downtown, something that the people of Trussville can call their own.”
