#GivingTuesdayNow, a global day to spread generosity, build community and support for organizations that are helping others cope with the COVID-19 pandemic, is today, Tuesday, May 5, 2020.

#GivingTuesday Now is a great time to help organizations, like BPL, that are helping to support our community during this difficult time, said Catherine Frey, Director of Library Development. "Your help will support BPL's efforts to expand our virtual programs."

BPL partners with the Friends Foundation of the Birmingham Public Library so all donations are tax-deductible.
Although our 19 buildings have been closed to the public since mid-March, BPL has continued to provide services 24/7 online including virtual storytelling by Mrs. Eve of Avondale Library, Local Author reading challenges, free resources like Homework Alabama to help educate students at home, photo challenges, free math tutoring, virtual book clubs at Avondale Regional Branch Library and more.
