Suspect Charged In Shooting Death Of His Sister

A Birmingham man was charged in the shooting death of his sister, and the wounding of two other victims.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A man has been arrested and charged with the Tuesday morning shooting of a woman in her apartment. Police say the victim was the suspect's sister.

A report by Alabama Media Group says Clifford Stutson, 43, is charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder. He is charged with the murder of his 40-year-old sister, Dakisha Stutson, and the wounding of her boyfriend and her 18-year-old son, Carver High School football player Travon Stutson.

According to the report, Birmingham police responded to a home in Acipco Cottages at 1625 25th Court North about 2 a.m. Tuesday on a report of gunshots fired. Officer arrived on the scene to find three victims.

Dakisha Stutson was pronounced dead at the scene. Her boyfriend and son were rushed to UAB Hospital. Travon Stutson was shot in the arm and underwent surgery. Her boyfriend remains critically injured.
