A report by Alabama Media Group said Birmingham police Sgt. Bryan Shelton reported the incidents began at 5:45 p.m. Sunday when the suspect forced his way into an apartment at 2012 Avenue. He reportedly shot a woman in the torso, then fled, and attempted to steal a car in the parking lot of a Dollar General.
