Teen Charged After Death Of Tarrant 14-Year-Old
The accidental shooting death of 14-year-old Daijon Wynn has resulted in charges against his 17-year-old friend.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — The accidental shooting death of 14-year-old Daijon Wynn of Tarrant has resulted in charges against a 17-year-old friend of the victim. Wynn was killed Friday, Aug. 23, outside the Exxon near Pinson Street.
Wynn was a passenger inside a Dodge Challenger parked just outside the front door of the store.His 17-year-old friend sitting in the back seat was moving a gun when it discharged, according to an Alabama Media Group report.
The Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office on Wednesday issued a juvenile petition against the 17-year-old for certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm. The teen is charged with the Class C felony because juveniles can’t legally have a gun. His name is not being released because of his age.

Wynn's funeral will be held at noon Saturday at Twenty Second Avenue Baptist Church. Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Dante Jelks Funeral Home.
