Teen Girl Shot In Homewood Accidental Shooting: Police

HOMEWOOD, AL - A teenager was sent to a local hospital after being shot Sunday evening at a Homewood apartment complex, police said.

The Homewood Police Department reports the victim is a 15-year-old girl, who was found in the 900 block of Mansard Drive, off Valley Avenue, about 7 p.m, WVTM reported. Another teen was detained for questioning, but a police spokesperson says the shooting appears accidental.

The victim has a serious injury, and was taken to Children's Hospital, according to the police department.
