Teens Rescued In Homewood From Human Trafficking Operation

Two teen girls were found in a Homewood hotel room, and police say they are victims of human trafficking.

HOMEWOOD, AL — Two Memphis teens are under evaluation and a Georgia woman is behind bars after police investigated a human trafficking operation in Homewood. A report by ABC 33/40 said two girls, age 15 and 16, were found in a Homewood hotel room Friday.

Marlette Lychelle Smith of Rome, Georgia, was arrested and charged with human trafficking, the report said. The two girls were taken from Memphis and transported to Atlanta before coming to Homewood, police said.
