BIRMINGHAM, AL - recent statistics show that more people in the U.S. go to movies than theme parks, sporting events and concerts combined. And why not? It is a great option for the family, for a night out with friends, a date or even for something entertaining to do alone.

There are dozens of movie theaters in the Birmingham metro area, ranging from traditional cinemas to historic theaters and even a drive-in option. Patch took data from a variety of online rankings to compile the 10 best venues in Birmingham to see a movie:
