Traffic Fatality In Mt. Olive Community Under Investigation
A single-vehicle wreck Monday night in the Mt. Olive community of Jefferson County ended with a fatality.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A motorist is dead after a single-vehicle wreck in the Mt. Olive community of Jefferson County Monday night. The wreck occurred just before 8 p.m. on Brookside Road near Woodward Road.
Deputy Chief David Agee of the Jefferson County Sheriff's office said deputies arrived to the scene and found that a car appeared to have been traveling south when it left the roadway, crashed into a tree and caught on fire.
Witnesses reported that they heard the crash and came to the scene but were unable to get the car door open. The fire was extinguished by the Mount Olive Fire department.

First responders found one occupant in the drivers seat who did not survive. The body was released to the Jefferson County Coroners Office, but there is no identification of the driver at this time.
