Triple Shooting At Smithfield Housing Projects
Police are on the scene at a shooting off 2nd St N near Parker High School in the Smithfield Housing Projects.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A shooting at the Smithfield Housing Projects near Parker High School in Birmingham has police and homicide detectives on the scene.
One victim has been confirmed as dead, while two others are injured and have been transported to a local hospital.
A report by WIAT said the deceased victim was found in a vehicle, and investigators are still trying to determine whether the other two victims were in the same vehicle or outside. Most of the vehicle’s windows were shattered by gunfire. Police said the shooter or shooters fled on foot.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Venus Felicia Godhigh. She was 38 and lived in Anniston. Authorities told Alabama Media Group the three women were in an SUV on Second Street North when, investigators believe, a suspect or suspects walked up to the vehicle and opened fired.
The SUV then traveled across the street, into a grassy common area and stopped just short of the porch of someone’s apartment. All of vehicle’s windows were shattered by the gunfire.
