Two Children Dead In Mulga House Fire
Two children, ages 1 and 2, died in a house fire in Mulga just after midnight Tuesday morning.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL - A fire that broke out just after midnight Tuesday morning resulted in the deaths of two children. The fire occurred at 1491 Little River Trail in Mulga.
David Agee of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said at approximately 12:19 a.m., Jefferson County deputies and Birmingport Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the scene and found that the home was fully engulfed in flames.

One adult tried to save his children but was unable to reach them due to the intensity of the fire. Two children, ages 1 and 2, died in the fire. Firefighters were able to locate the remains of the children.
The fire is being investigated by the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office.
