Two Homicides In 3 Hours In Birmingham Saturday Night
Two men are dead in unrelated shootings Saturday night that occurred just hours apart.
BIRMINGHAM, AL - In just three hours time Saturday night, the Birmingham Police Department responded to the scenes of two separate shootings that resulted in fatalities. Neither homicide has netted an arrest.
The first incident occurred at Third Avenue West and First Street West just before 11:30 p.m Saturday. Police arrived on the scene to find 31-year-old Christopher Watson with gunshot wounds. He was taken to UAB Hospital where he later died, according to a report by Alabama Media Group.
Watson’s killing happened less than three hours after the shooting death of Anthony Tolbert, 30, in Birmingham’s Smithfield community. Police reports said said detectives learned that Tolbert was standing at a mobile car wash area with several others when the single gunshot was fired. The group dispersed. Shortly after, Tolbert was discovered in the alley. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
