Two Men Arrested in Jefferson County for Trafficking Meth
Two men were arrested during a traffic stop in McCalla this week when Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies found nine ounces of meth.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Two men were arrested Thursday during a traffic stop in McCalla, after Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies discovered nine ounces of methamphetamine, worth approximately $20,000. The stop was conducted on Bell Hill Road near Eastern Valley Road, and the driver was arrested for outstanding warrants, while the passenger was found to have outstanding warrants as well and was also arrested.
After a subsequent search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamine, prescription narcotics, cash, and drug paraphernalia, 38-year-old Christopher R Ramey and 40-year-old Brian Venable were charged with trafficking methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Ramey remains in jail with bonds totaling $101,500. He had been free on bond after being arrested for trafficking methamphetamine in May of this year. Venable remains in jail with no bond.
