UAB Celebrates Community Month With Events Through Feb. 18

Throughout January and February, activities are planned to engage students, faculty, staff and the wider community in diversity programs.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is hosting the fifth annual Community Month through Feb. 18. The celebration includes events such as panel discussions, cooking classes and sports, hosted by various schools and departments.

Community Month is a monthlong celebration of UAB’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion through a variety of activities planned to engage students, faculty, staff and the broader community. Many of these events allow departments and organizations to showcase their diversity efforts through presentations, lectures and performances. Others will allow participants to take part in critical dialogues and collaborate with local community partners.
