UAB Giving Day Is March 4

With one day of giving, what could we accomplish in our community?

On Thursday, March 4, the University of Alabama at Birmingham will host Giving Day, a university-wide celebration of philanthropy. It is an opportunity to make a tangible impact in the lives of many people in the greater community, which could transform the UAB campus, the Birmingham community and even the world.

There is no limit to what we can accomplish when we all come together, says Angel Lancaster, UAB’s director of Annual Giving. Any amount is welcomed.

“Small gifts can make a really big difference on Giving Day, and most of the gifts we receive are less than $50,” Lancaster said. “This year’s projects support a wide range of causes so you can support the area that best aligns with your interests.”

• UAB COVID-19 Response, fueling research and helping students and frontline health care workers
• Pathways Women’s Shelter, building opportunities for homeless women and children in Birmingham
• UAB Against Child Trafficking, providing care to pediatric trafficking survivors
• Dental care for communities in need, in underserved populations in Alabama
• Lady Pads Project, a student-led, service-learning project fighting period poverty in Kenya
