People throughout the state of Alabama will be able to access Uber's ride-sharing services starting this Sunday.

MONTGOMERY, AL - Finally, after almost two years of legislative discussion and research, ride-sharing services such as Uber will operate throughout the the state of Alabama beginning Sunday, July 1.

According to a report by Alabama Media Group, Uber is already statewide in Alabama's neighbors -Tennessee, Georgia and Mississippi - and in more than 40 states. City regulations now in effect would be phased out. Cities and counties would no longer be allowed to impose a business license requirement or tax on the companies. TNCs would conduct or have a third party conduct criminal background and driving history checks on drivers.
